JOC Fun Bus
This ticket is for the bus ride only. You'll also need an admission ticket for the JOC Day events. BUS LEAVES UWS @ 9 AM and returns @ ~6:30 PM.

NOTE: You can VISIT the kumsitz until 7 PM without a reservation. This ticket grants you admission to remain at the campsite later than 7 PM Sunday night until 10 AM Monday morning.

It’s our biggest event of the year (~200 participants)

 

Hikes!  Picnic!  Workshops!

Stokes State Forest, NJ

Schedule of events:

10:45 AM Registration

  • Begin the day with your choice of 6 HIKES of varying difficulty or MOUNTAIN BIKING on intermediate level trails (BYOB).
  • Rejoin your friends at a catered PICNIC with salads and sandwiches prepared by Chickie’s of Teaneck.

3:30-4:30 PM

  • Learn more about the great outdoors a variety of themed workshops:

Knot Tying                        First Aid                        Meditation

Orienteering                      Judaism Al Fresco         Boot Camp

Along with Frisbee, volleyball, and chilling out in the beautiful woods of Stokes State Forest.

 

5:30-7 PM FREE Lag B’Omer BONFIRE and KUMSITZ!  

 

7:00 PM-11 AM  Camp Out Overnight (Registration only)

  • Limited number of camping spots available--be sure to RESERVE YOUR SPOT when you register for JOC Day.

 

Cost?

We are offering this full day of events to you for the special, limited time price of $29 until April 20.  After 4/20, the price goes up to $36.  This includes activities, food, classes, bonfire/kumsitz, and optional camping. 

Cancellation policy: Because of the reservations necessary to make this event a success, we cannot offer any refunds after April 20.  


How many?

This year, the event is capped at 200 participants. In the past, we have had a wait list of more than 50 people. We suggest registering soon, or else keeping an eye on the eventbrite site to see how many spots are left. 

Note: Last opportunity to register is midnight on Monday, April 26. Don’t wait to sign up!

 

Transportation:

Manhattan: The JOC Party Bus will offer round-trip transportation from the Upper West Side of Manhattan returning to NYC at ~6:30 PM (nominal cost of $25)

Other Locations: Shortly before the event, we will share contact information for drivers leaving from points outside Manhattan.

*Once the JOC Party Bus is full, we will then send out contact information for drivers leaving from Manhattan. 

**Be prepared to reimburse your driver $18 for gas, tolls & wear ‘n tear.  We love our drivers—don’t make them beg!

Jewish Outdoors Club



The Jewish Outdoors Club (JOC) is a non-profit organization 501(c)(7) that bring Jews to the great outdoors. The group consists mainly of Modern Jews from the tri-state area. Events are planned by JOC members and publicized through the JOC website and through an email list, now numbering 2500 people. Our outdoors club is in its 16th year, and has cultivated a culture that is warm and welcoming. Come see for yourself!
